Adult Swim

From this Thursday we will split the pool into two halves. One half will be for adult swimmers. This will not (at this stage) be a coached session, just a chance to swim while waiting. Cost will be £3 per swim.

To address child protection concerns, please could you either change after all the children are in the pool, or alternatively come changed. Similarly at the other end, please leave the pool early enough to clear the change room before the end of the Tri-club session. Thanks for your understanding.

Land Training

Spring is here! With it comes the opportunity to move outside. Clocks change on Sunday 27th March, and we will be moving to Simon Balle School fields from Friday 1st April.

Races

We’re looking forward to fielding athletes this year in the junior triathlons (Tristar triathlons). They are great fun for all ability levels.

Three triathlon races which are fairly local and which we recommend are:

Buntingford Swimming Club Triathlon – Details to follow.

Cambridge Tri Club – Sunday 3rd  July  2011

17th July – Triforce Juniors Triathlon (St Albans) http://www.entrycentral.com/index.php?raceID=28

The focus in all of the races is on having fun and the organisers generally manage to achieve this. If anyone would like to discuss racing with us, please do not hesitate to do so. Race distances vary marginally, but are generally in the region of:

Tristart (8 year olds)

Swim 50m, Bike 800m, Run 600m

Tristar 1 (9 – 10 year olds)

Swim 150 m, Bike 2km, Run 1200m

Tristar 2 (11-12 year olds)

Swim 200m, Bike 4km, Run 1800m

Tristar 3( 13 – 14 year olds)

Swim 300m, Bike 6km, Run 2400m

The swim is in an indoor heated pool, while the cycle and run are around school fields

Wishing you all of the best for your Easter break.
